In the Magistrates' Court, 2,893 charges of enter an intersection or marked foot crossing during a red traffic light were sentenced in the three years to 30 June 2023. The most common sentence for a charge of this offence was a fine (64.7% or 1872 charges).

Case data

In 2,784 cases sentenced in the Magistrates' Court in the three years to 30 June 2023, each case included at least one charge of enter an intersection or marked foot crossing during a red traffic light. Among the 2,784 cases, 2,173 people were male and 600 people were female. The most common outcome for cases was a fine (60.1% or 1674 cases).
